Meet Vincent
Four decades at the highest levels of institutional finance taught Vincent Mistretta one defining lesson: what separates organizations that grow from ones that stall is rarely strategy. It's leadership, alignment, and the willingness to ask why.
As co-founder of Coherence Capital Partners, recognized multiple times as Long/Short Credit Hedge Fund of the Year and Global COO of Credit Fixed Income at UBS, one of the world's largest financial institutions, Vincent helped build and led a multi-billion dollar credit platform. Those roles gave him a front row seat to what separates organizations that grow from ones that stall. It almost never comes down to strategy alone. It comes down to leadership, alignment, and the willingness to ask why before reaching for an answer.
Those experiences shaped everything about how he works today. Through Mistretta Advisors, Vincent brings that operational depth directly to founders, executives, and investment firms navigating the decisions that define what comes next. His approach is simple: listen deeply, design solutions that fit the reality on the ground, and work alongside clients until they no longer need him. That last part is intentional. The goal has never been dependency. It has always been independence.
Whether stepping into a fractional leadership role, advising on strategy, or coaching an executive through a pivotal moment, Vincent brings the same orientation he's carried throughout his career. He helps clients see their challenges clearly, trust their instincts, and lead with conviction.
When he's not working with clients, Vincent can be found with his family, deep in the wilderness with a camera, or absorbed in the craft of horology — the science and art of timekeeping. Photography has taught him that the best outcomes rarely come from force. They come from patience, observation, and knowing when the moment is right. It's a lesson that applies just as well in business as it does in nature.
Beyond This Work
The advisory work doesn't exist in isolation. Vincent's photography practice, Vincent Mistretta Photography, and his ongoing exploration of horology and craft both reflect the same principles that shape how he advises: slow down, observe carefully, and don't act until the moment is right.
Measured Movements is where those ideas come together — a Substack and YouTube channel exploring leadership, investing, craft, and precision through the lens of watches, wilderness and the decisions that define us. If any of that resonates, it's worth a look.
The Approach
Listen Before Advising
Most advisors arrive with a framework already in hand. Vincent doesn't. Every situation has its own texture, its own history, its own politics, its own constraints. The work starts with understanding what's actually happening on the ground, not with applying a methodology from a slide deck.
Invested in You, Not Just the Outcome
The best working relationships aren't built on expertise alone — they're built on trust. Vincent comes in curious, direct, and fully committed to what's best for you and your organization. That's what makes the listening real, the independence sustainable, and the partnership worth having.
Build Toward Independence
The goal of every engagement is the day you no longer need me. I'm not here to create dependency or to keep the retainer going indefinitely. I'm here to help you build something that holds, leadership that sticks, decision making that resonates, teams that execute without a hand on their shoulder.
